About Us

Besides being an awesome wife and mother, Andra is a licensed professional counselor and owner of River Birch Counseling & Wellness, a private practice in Traverse City. Andra worked as a registered nurse for nearly 20 years, then went back to school completing her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University in 2013. Andra loves getting outdoors when the weather is warm for kayaking and gardening. She also enjoys singing and is a co-leader of the youth group at our church, The Orchard in Traverse City.

Mike is a data scientist at Swift Capital, a small business funding provider based in Wilmington, Delaware. It's a math geek job, where Mike uses statistical tools to do data mining and develop quantitative strategies to support the business. Mike's degrees are in mathematics, but Mike also dabbles in web site design (the reason why you're reading this now) and he's an avid tournament chess player and certified USCF tournament director. He recently launched Cherry Chess, a website for the chess community in the Traverse City area.

Dawson (age 14) is very much into video games, most recently Halo: Reach and Destiny on Xbox. Dawson is in 9th grade at Kingsley High School where he is the 9th grade student council president and he plays on the JV football team.

Matthew (age 12) is a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoys video games. Matthew is in 7th grade and he attends Kingsley Middle School, where he's a section leader in the 7th-8th grade school choir. He's also a member of the LEGO robotics team.
